Editorial Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Editorial Policy explains the standards used by My Tenerife Experience when creating, reviewing and updating travel content.

Our editorial purpose

The Site exists to help travelers make practical decisions about Tenerife. Articles should answer the questions that matter before and during a trip: where to go, how to get there, how much time to allow, what it may cost, who an experience suits, what restrictions may apply and what should be checked again close to the travel date.

Accuracy and source quality

We aim to distinguish durable travel advice from facts that can change quickly. For time-sensitive information, we prefer official or authoritative sources such as local authorities, transport operators, attraction operators, national parks, emergency services and recognized public institutions.

Third-party travel resources may be used when they add useful context, but important operational facts should be checked against a primary source whenever reasonably possible.

First-hand observations and editorial judgment

The Site may include observations, comparisons and editorial judgments alongside factual information. Opinion is presented as opinion rather than as an official rule. A personal preference, such as which area is more convenient for families or which itinerary is more relaxed, can be useful when the reasoning is clear.

Prices, opening hours and availability

Prices, schedules, ticket conditions, accommodation availability and transport services can change without notice. When these details are included, they are provided as planning guidance rather than a permanent guarantee. Readers should verify live information before paying for a non-refundable booking or making a time-sensitive journey.

Corrections

If a material error is identified, we aim to correct it. Minor edits may be made for clarity, formatting, spelling or link maintenance without a separate correction notice. Significant corrections may be reflected in the article or its updated information when appropriate.

Corrections can be suggested through the Contact page or by emailing mytenerifeexperience@gmail.com.

Updates

Articles may be reviewed when information changes or when additional practical detail would make the guide more useful. An update date, where shown, indicates that the content has been reviewed or changed; it does not mean that every external price, schedule or condition has been frozen as of that date.

Commercial independence

Affiliate relationships help fund the Site but do not give a commercial partner the right to approve editorial conclusions. A provider is not guaranteed positive coverage because the Site may receive a commission from qualifying referrals.

More information is available in the Affiliate Disclosure.

Sponsored content

If paid or sponsored editorial content is published, it should be identified in a way that makes the commercial relationship clear to readers. Sponsored arrangements should not be presented as independent recommendations when they are not.

External links

Links are selected because they may help readers confirm information, plan a trip or complete an action. The presence of a link does not mean My Tenerife Experience controls the external website or accepts responsibility for changes to its content.

Reader trust

The priority is usefulness, accuracy and transparency. When we do not know a live fact, it is better to direct readers to the correct official source than to present an uncertain detail as fixed.
